CHRISTOPER GILLIS, MPA CPHR PMP
Principal

Christopher Gillis has worked in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors in varying roles from Human Resources (HR) advisor to executive manager. For the last five years, he has worked in HR within the transportation and hospitality sector including three years as a Director of HR with an internationally recognized company. He has experience as an HR consultant providing strategic advice to business owners and leaders and as the head of an HR department providing operational HR support to 1350 employees.

Christopher has had the rewarding experience of working as a Director of HR within an international organization with employees from 45 different countries. A highlight of this experience was implementing various HR projects, some of which supported the company’s efforts to expand and maximize their market share in China.

Having worked as a policy advisor and communications advisor, Christopher’s unique skill set brings added value and depth to the work he does. In addition to this work experience and that as an HR leader, he has also taught as a sessional professor at the University of Prince Edward Island and as a sessional instructor in the business program at Holland College.

A highly motivated human resources and project management professional with a natural ability to lead, Christopher is passionate about leveraging human resources, project management and the ability to use both to solve complex problems and create cultures of performance. Christopher accomplishes this by building effective relationships through communication and trust. An optimistic, professional approach to people, career and team work, Christopher’s ability to set goals and successfully handle multiple priorities is a trademark of his work. With energy, initiative and personal ethics he is able to deftly plan, manage, think critically and be creative with the work he conducts for clients.

Christopher’s specific expertise from his work in Canada and internationally provides him with unique insights into the importance of strategic HR management to overall profitability and business success. A graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island, he also holds a masters degree in policy from Queen’s University and certifications as an HR professional (CPHR) and professional project manager (PMP).

Christopher lives in Charlottetown, PEI.

In addition to being an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development he is also proficient in the application of the Kirkpatrick training model. Michel's work experience coupled with his education and vast academic knowledge makes him an asset to any team or project. With a clear vision based upon research, analysis and motivated working relationships Michel is able to positively contribute to projects by delivering measurable results. His thorough work and attention to detail ensures he gathers the right data, builds the right relationships and confidently implements change. A confident professional, Michel has a clear understanding of leadership and holds himself to the highest standards. His strong values and ethics are evident in all aspects of his work as is his desire to produce great work. Having worked in large organizations (1100+ employees) and smaller, boutique businesses, MIchel brings more than ten years experience to the work he does. He holds an MBA from Savignac International Management School and, as a lifelong learner, is forever developing his professional skills. An avid traveler, Michel is also an armchair photographer and connoisseur of fine foods, also known as a foodie.

    LEARNING and TRAINING As The Dorchester Group's learning,and training specialist Britt Odegard comes to us with over eight years experience from a wide variety of industries including post-secondary education, oil and gas, hospitality, and most recently, aviation. Britt spent two and a half years working at sea with Princess Cruises consulting with leaders and creating innovative training solutions for 1,350 crew employees from up to 45 different countries. Britt decided to retire her sea legs in 2018 and is now enjoying learning about a field that combines her interests of travel, hospitality, operations, and learning and development. In her current role, working for a major airline, Britt is responsible for creating training programs that meet Transport Canada regulatory requirements for Pilots, Cabin Crew Members and Flight Dispatchers, while being heavily involved in the operation by recommending efficiencies to guest experience, implementing new technology to Cabin Crew Members, and managing change through a phased approach. Britt enjoys spending time hiking, skiing, cycling, and spending time with her family, particularly her two-year old niece. Britt holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Royal Roads University.

    PUBLIC SECTOR and HR MANAGEMENT Diane is The Dorchester Group’s specialist in public sector HR management. Having spent over 25 years in the public sector at the federal and provincial levels, with 10 years at the executive management level, she brings an experienced and proven track record to the work she does. Diane is also fluently bilingual in French and English. With a primary focus on policy, planning and hands-on human resource management, Diane’s work is underscored by her firm belief that people are an organization’s greatest asset. She believes that people matter most and are always worth investing in and this approach to management will always have the strongest return on investment. In addition to these values, Diane is also passionate about the Francophonie and linguistic duality as a key Canadian value. Although Diane has worked and lived in Canada, Europe, Australia and South America, she is most content at home in eastern PEI where she lives with her husband and two sons. In addition to her list of professional accomplishments Diane can also add community organizer, volunteer and soccer coach to her resume.
